My Lord Marquess,
I did not fail to acquaint the
German Government, as instructed in Your Lordship's
despatch No. 1174 of the 20th July last, with the attitude of His Majesty's Government towards the question of the China Arms Embargo.
I have now received a communication
from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to the effect that the German Legation at Peking has been instructed by telegraph that the German Government have no
objection to the proposal made by the Diplomatic Body
in Poking at their meeting of the 3rd October.
